With our location digital recording systems, we come to your performance space. Whether it's a concert hall, church, school auditorium or rehearsal hall, chances are we know the site well, having recorded in every viable venue in the Tri-State area. We also use WRTI’s brand-new performance studio for recording sessions, as well as several intimate recital halls in Philadelphia for soloists and small ensembles that require a space to record demos, auditions and professional CD releases. We start with the world's best condenser microphones and faithfully capture every nuance of your ensemble. Our extensive assortment of microphones includes the DPA (B&K) 4000 series, Neuman KM84s , AKG , Sennheiser and the superb Audio Technica 4000 series of stage and studio condenser microphones. We have the right mics for any recording: Orchestral, Chamber, Vocal, Jazz and even Rock. We use Mackie Onyx mixers, with firewire for straight-to-HD recording. Their redesigned preamps deliver accurate, uncolored results. Every session, concert or recital is tracked right out of the preamps and split out to stereo CDr (client copy and backup) as well as direct-to-hard disk (stereo and/or multi-track). We routinely make a THIRD copy using the Tascam DA-38/78/88 multi-track tape format - as a backup to the entire project. The result is a rough stereo work copy on CDr (that can be given to you, the client, on the spot), digital tracks on hard disc ready-to-edit, and a multi-track tape backup for safe, archive storage. After the location recording, we go back to the studio with our Windows-based editing systems, using the industry-standard, world-class editing/mastering software SEQUOIA 8.2. We edit in 24 and 32-bit “floating point” word length, so your reverbs and fadeouts stay smooth and silky, while edits are astonishingly seamless. If you've never edited in the digital domain, you're in for a real treat: our hourly rate includes all the tools you can imagine with Sequoia’s amazing collection of digital audio processing options. Workflow is quick, painless, and goes as fast as you want it to go: the more you have ready when you enter our studio, the easier (and quicker) your project comes together. Do as little or as much editing as you need to do on your masters, we're always happy to share your vision and help you create your dream recording. |

All Masters are archived on Western Digital hard drives, DVD-Rom disc, as well as any and all finished CD projects, in our climate-controlled, off-site storage facility, indefinitely, at NO CHARGE to you, the client. 24 and 32 bit final edits/master recordings are "dithered" down to standard 16 bit, 44k sample rate consumer CDs. You also have the option to remix for SACD, DVD-A and Dolby 5.1 surround at a later time. For CDs and DVDs in quantity, the choices are up to you! We also provide sync sound on location for DV and film production. When you're ready to record, contact us for rates and available dates. |
